Whether you call it high tea or afternoon tea, there’s little doubt that this midday delight is one of our favourite ways to treat ourselves. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy tiered stands full of light bites, scones, and tea, read on for our guide on where to find the best high tea in Singapore.

While some of these are pricey, they are worth the splurge, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion. However, for more wallet-friendly options, check out our guide to affordable afternoon tea in Singapore.

Afternoon tea is a storied tradition in Raffles Hotel, one that continues to this very day at The Grand Lobby. The stunning lobby is framed with plush couches where one can enjoy these tiered sets, priced at $80++ a person. Buttery, house-baked raisin scones served with clotted cream and rose petal jam share space with a medley of finger sandwiches sans crust, and a selection of sweet treats. All the petite desserts are made by the hotel’s executive pastry chef as well. To complete the set, diners get a choice between loose-leaf tea or the hotel’s very own custom-blended coffee. 

Raffles Hotel has also launched a travel-themed Afternoon Tea, taking diners across the globe via their palates, to a different destination each month. That starts at $88++ a guest. While the sets are by no means affordable, teatime at Raffles Hotel is certainly memorable, a treat for special occasions.

The Tea Lounge at Regent Singapore serves up teatime set amidst stately furniture and verdant tropical greenery. You can choose between their Weekday or Weekend English Theme Afternoon Tea: the former is served to the table, priced from $52++ per adult, while the latter is a buffet, and is priced at $72++ per adult.

The former option zones in on British specialties, from a shepherd’s pie to scones, while the latter includes Singaporean small bites as part of its offerings, so expect mantou with chilli crab sauce and chicken satay on the menu. Either way, you also get your choice of either Gryphon Tea or Illy Coffee.

Discover the Imperial High Tea at Sichuan Dou Hua’s Tian Fu Tea Room, which gives diners the option of over 30 different types of tea, of which you choose one to pair with the small bites. On the food front, there are nine items, ranging from a Steamed Truffle Dumpling in Superior Stock to Homemade Fine Bean Curd with Bird Nest. There are also Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles, which bring on the spice with a moreish, numbing sauce. The set is priced at $38++ to $48++ per person.

For afternoon tea inspired by fall, book a table at Intercontinental Singapore’s The Lobby Lounge. The Blissful Autumn Indulgence Afternoon Tea is priced from $55++ each and feeds two. On the tea front, there’s a selection of classics such as earl grey and peppermint, as well as exclusive blends starring tea sourced from Sri Lanka.

The three-tiered stand comes with a selection of seasonal treats spotlighting cream pastries, unlimited ice cream and handcrafted scones.

MO Bar offers diners seasonal afternoon tea set amidst views of the CBD skyline and plush lounge furniture. Priced at $52++ per guest, the set is a full-fledged dining experience, so come hungry. There are over 14 items served, all of them flavourful and nuanced. Though the menu is largely fusion, don’t feel like you’ll miss out on the classics, as each set comes with a sweet and a savoury scone, as well as your pick of either tea or coffee.

Pore over eight different teas, all with their unique provenances. If you’re stuck, try the Mandarin Oriental Singapore Exclusive Blend, a swirl of aromatic green tea, ginger and citrus notes.

Anti:dote is known best for being a cocktail bar, but the lounge also offers seasonal afternoon teas that start at $58++. Typically, a set comes with sandwiches, a medley of sweet entremets, and scones served with lemon butter curd, Devonshire clotted cream, and strawberry marmalade, as well as your choice of tea from their lengthy selection. Many of the teas are from TWG, and range from light, floral brews, to punchier, dark teas.

If you’re bringing the young ones along, you’ll be happy to know that Anti:dote also has a tea set for kids, priced at $35++ each.

Hilton Singapore’s Ginger.Lily is all muted elegance, with botanical-inspired interiors, and an equally beautiful four-part high tea selection to match. Dubbed the Orchard Trail Afternoon Tea, the set is priced from $58++ with a minimum of two diners. Themed around spices and botanicals, the set starts off with sandwiches, including a Mini Lobster Roll topped with chives. Then, you get warm bites, of which the Smoked Beef Burger is a perennial favourite.

A selection of scones with house-made jam, as well as chocolate ganache, is a prelude to the sweets, which span tea cakes to macarons. There are 10 types of premium teas available, curated by Gifel tea, including non-caffeinated options.

TWG Tea has a variety of tea time set menus, ranging from a simple tea and scones duo priced at $19++, to a full-on tiered tea set known as the Parisian ($70++ for two). For the latter, diners get an assortment of finger sandwiches with fillings such as crab meat and Boston lobster, served along with a hot croque monsieur with either truffle or salmon. Next, take your pick of muffins or scones, and two patisseries from their roving trolley to complete the deal.

Your choice of hot or iced tea from TWG’s library of menu is also part of the package, but do note you’d have to pay a premium for teas priced over $11. Do also note that the tea time menus are only available at their dine-in outlets.

Dine with poolside views at L’Espresso, Goodwood Park Hotel’s lounge. Teatime is all served buffet style here and typically starts at $65++ per adult for weekdays. Pore over a selection of sandwiches, both open-faced and finger-sized, as well as bakes such as stuffed croissants, and classic scones.

These staples are accompanied by a range of hotel buffet signatures, from laksa from a live station to Nyonya otah, carved meats, and a wide variety of desserts, both Western and locally inspired.

Few dining locations in Singapore are as stunning as Atlas. Take your bestie there for an afternoon tea treat and be awed by the stunning art deco decor of the space, anchored by a tower of gin. The menu is often on rotation, but you do get a mix of both sweet and savoury treats with a strong French inclination, as quiches, tarts, madeleines, and more share space with classic scones.

Pick a tea from their in-house array, or elevate your experience with the Atlas Suite ($38++), a flight of three petite martinis. Afternoon teas start at $56++ per person. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.

For afternoon tea with serious views, check out Skai at Swissotel The Stamford. The restaurant is located on the 70th floor of the hotel and boasts stunning panoramic views of the city with its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Most of the high tea’s menu bears Japanese and Asian influences—think a Black Sesame Praline Genoa, Okinawan Brown Sugar Macarons, and sandwiches seasoned with togarashi. For drinks, choose between Bacha Coffee or TWG teas available. A set is priced at $68++ per adult.

Lime Patisserie’s tongue-in-cheek Tiers of Joy afternoon high tea has seen a recent menu overhaul to include a wider selection of locally inspired delights. Instead of just quiches and sandwiches, a tiered set here comes with bites that nod to hawker culture, from the Nasi Lemak Ball to Crispy Prawn Beancurd Roll.

Their scones even stick to the theme, as they come laced with chicken bak kwa pieces for a smoky-sweet kick. Each set is priced at $68++ on weekdays and comes with unlimited servings of Bacha Coffee and TWG tea.

Another high tea offering with skyscraping views is Andaz Singapore’s Alley on 25. The Kampong Glam Afternoon Tea here nods to the heritage neighbourhood the hotel is situated in, and celebrates true-blue local flavours, with a slight twist. The Hainanese Chicken Rice Arancini stars gingery rice rolled and deep-fried to achieve a moreish golden crust, while the Beef Rendang Tartlet is crowned with spiced, lemak rendang pieces.

For sweets, the Sumac Strawberry macaron marries sour with sweet, while the Cinnamon Soft Serve rounds off the set on a cool note. Though you get your usual selection of TWG teas here, Alley on 25 also has free flow teh halia as part of their teatime menu.

Halal-certified Royal Palm Meat & Dine offers diners a high tea buffet. They’re the first hotel in Singapore to do so, spoiling guests with their broad selection of light bites across various cuisines, whether it be Wagyu beef sliders, tempura fritters, French pastries, Nyonya kueh and more.

For drinks, you get a bottle of still or sparkling water, your choice of tea, and your pick of fruit juice. They’re currently running a 1-for-1 deal, priced at $67.90++ for two diners. so head down before it ends!

Transport yourself to Penang at Teahouse 1973, a quaint, cosy Malaysian-themed cafe that also serves up afternoon tea sets for two at just $45++. The set comprises full-sized slices of cakes baked fresh and in-house daily, a couple of scones, and savoury sandwiches to round off the meal, as well as a pot of fruit tea.

It’s worth noting that only 12 sets are available each day, so head down early to ensure you get your fix.

Teahouse 1973 Review: $45++ Afternoon Tea For Two At This Penang-Inspired Cafe

The Wonderment Collective looks like a cafe that walked straight out of a vintage novel. The space is all blue tones and woven furnishings, with low seats and couches where you can lounge with your friends and dig into their afternoon tea. Each set has two tiers and feeds two, priced at $60.

The stand has full-sized tarts, macarons, pots of tiramisu, and generously-sized scones, sharing space with smoked salmon and egg mayo sandwiches. Diners get a full pot of tea as well. Do note that you can only enjoy their tea sets by reservation only, so call ahead to make a booking if you’re keen.

OG cafe The Marmalade Pantry offers afternoon tea across its numerous outlets, but we definitely award bonus points to their Downtown Gallery establishment for vibes. The serene, blue-toned space is dotted with plush lounge seats and verdant, tropical botanicals. Swing by between 3pm to 6pm and enjoy their Jovial Afternoon Tea & Moscato Set, priced at $86++ for two.

For the price, you get a two-tiered stand packed with a variety of savouries and sweets, from Gingerbread Petite Cupcakes, to Truffle Egg Mayo Sandwiches. The meal gets a boozy uplift with two glasses of fruity NV Corvezzo Moscato Dolce, rounded off with your pick of two pots from their selection of Monogram teas.

Parisian cafe Angelina has a storied history dating back to 1903. They currently offer a Royal Afternoon Tea set, which diners can enjoy at $48++ per person or $86++ for two. Either way, one gets a selection of petite French patisseries, such as macarons and a mini version of their famed Mont Blanc. For savouries, there are four items you can dig into, ranging from duck rillettes served atop a crusty baguette, and an Alaskan crab cake roll.

Choose between tea or coffee, but we highly recommend topping up $5++ for their Signature Hot Chocolate. Also known as chocolat chaud in France, the drink is rich, molten chocolate thinned ever so slightly with full-cream milk. Please note that the tea set is not available during festive periods.

Mention JUMBO Seafood and chilli crab is the first thing that comes to mind, but they also serve up a wallet-friendly afternoon tea that’s worth the visit. Exclusively available at ION Orchard, the high tea set is priced at $39.90++ per person and comes with 11 items, ranging from seafood bites to steamed and fried dim sum, as well as dessert.

Their Baked Custard Mochi Pastry is a crowd fave, with QQ mochi skin encasing a molten liu sha interior. For savoury goodies, zoom in on the Pan Fried JUMBO Chilli Crab Buns, which marries the signature spicy chilli crab sauce with a fluffy, fried dough shell.

For a tranquil afternoon tea experience, book yourself a table at The Landing Point. The Fullerton Bay Hotel restaurant and bar boasts a 13-metre-long bar as its centrepiece and waterfront views of Marina Bay, as well as live piano music to accompany your teatime.

Menus are themed but typically marry Asian flavours with Western influences. Their current Expressions Afternoon Tea menu is inspired by nature, offering small bites such as an Atlantic Scallop tartlet laced with citrusy fruit salsa, a Nyonya Trifle, and even Egg Kaya Toast, which riffs on the local breakfast staple.
